York Tree Wardens is an active volunteer group caring for trees in our community. We gather information about local trees, get involved in tree matters and organise practical tree projects.

We meet every two months in an informal and social setting.  Between meetings we organise practical events to plant, maintain and check on trees in our local areas.  We support the City of York Council's Arboricultural Officer and assist other community groups with their tree work.  We also organise and attend events so you can learn more about trees, their maintenance and management.

We are part of the national Tree Warden Scheme which encourages people to play an active role in conserving and enhancing their local trees and woods. The scheme was founded and is co-ordinated by The Tree Council.
